I had heard that this film was a tear-jerker, so I decided to wait a bit before diving in. That turned out to be a wise choice; this movie had me in tears for at least an hour! As a parent, the emotional weight of this story hit me particularly hard, both during the poignant moments halfway through and especially at the climactic ending. The screenplay is nothing short of spectacular, and the animation is simply outstanding. There are clever ideas woven throughout the film, from the nuanced behavior of the animals to the profound character arc of the Wild Robot, it’s just brilliant.

I don’t want to give too much away, as it would ruin the experience, but watching a robot navigate the challenges of parenting reminded me so vividly of my own journey with my children. The film carries a beautiful message that resonated deeply with me, evoking a sense of nostalgia reminiscent of “Fern Gully.” Overall, this movie is a near-perfect gem, and I must admit, I’m not usually a big fan of animated films anymore.

If you haven’t seen “The Wild Robot” yet, do yourself a favor and watch it today; you will not be disappointed. This one is definitely a worthy addition to your collection!
“The Wild Robot” is available now on streaming and VOD.
