How would a master assassin call it quits, start a family, and keep them safe? If you’ve never wondered this, don’t worry, you are not alone, but thankfully someone did! If not, we would have never had the opportunity to enjoy Sakamoto Days.
Sakamoto Days (Season 1) – Follow the action-packed story of legendary ex-hitman Taro Sakamoto, as he bands with comrades to face off against the looming threat of assassins to ensure a peaceful life with his beloved family. Get ready for non-stop assassin action as chaos ensues in the ordinary (and not-so-ordinary) life of Sakamoto and his comrades!
As an avid Crunchyroll subscriber, I’ve avoided watching Anime on Netflix out of sheer lack of necessity to find content elsewhere… but after being recommended Delicious in Dungeon and loving it, I took a chance, along with my 10-year-old to watch an episode of Sakamoto Days, and we are completely hooked.
There are very few anime series that as a father, I feel comfortable watching with my kid. The other night I started the first episode of Overlord and after a few minutes turned it off rather quickly. Sakamoto Days, on the other hand, is violent, but has an endearing family theme throughout the show. Sakamoto, as violent as he can be, is a family man, showing care for even his “found family” and turns enemies into friends…at least the ones that survive.
The characters are interesting, the plot is simple and sweet. My biggest complaint is that the wait for the next episode is too long.
If you have been debating to give Netflix a try for anime, I highly recommend Sakamoto Days. You won’t regret it!
Sakamoto Days is streaming now on Netflix.
