Not Watching “Heretic” Is Honestly Sacrilege

I am absolutely mesmerized by Hugh Grant in his golden years! His transition into villainy has been nothing short of thrilling, and I must say, this particular role stands out as his finest performance yet. I found myself drawn into the complexities of Mr. Reed, sensing an underlying agenda that kept me on the edge of my seat. Grant’s performance is a masterclass in tension, building steadily to an explosive climax. Just when I thought I was on board with him, he crosses a line that left me reeling. He says all the right things, but his actions? Absolutely unacceptable.

Sophie Thatcher and Chloe East shine alongside Grant, brilliantly reflecting their growing horror in response to his escalating deceit. They convincingly play two seemingly simple Mormon girls, adding layers to the unfolding drama.

The depth of research that went into this film is impressive, bringing forth remarkable insights about religion and the varied ways we as humans believe. This movie has the potential to ignite some truly thought-provoking conversations if you watch it with the right crowd.

“Heretic” is a meticulously crafted film! Scott Beck and Bryan Woods have done a phenomenal job, and I must give a shout-out to the set designer, sound, and camera teams as well. The house and its intricate model are absolutely stunning. I would love to have that model in my own collection. It’s refreshing to see such a high level of detail and craftsmanship in filmmaking.

This film is definitely worth watching and even a second viewing. I can already see it becoming a cherished part of my collection!

“Heretic” is available now on streaming and VOD.
