Here’s Hoping That It Actually Is Venom’s Last Dance

Some films deserve sequels, and then there’s the Venom series, which feels like an R-rated movie series aimed at 12-year-olds. Don’t get me wrong—if I were 12, I probably would have loved this series and this film in particular. But watching it now, it just feels dull and uninspired.

If you’re going to create a formidable antagonist, show us their strength through action rather than relying on tired exposition. Take Thanos from the Avengers, for instance. He obliterates some of the strongest characters in the franchise, which immediately establishes how dangerous he is. In Venom 3, however, the primary antagonist merely sits there spouting tough dialogue, while we’re told how formidable they are. It’s such a cliché and ultimately falls flat.

Tom Hardy is an incredible actor, but throughout all three films, he struggles to make us genuinely care about Eddie or Venom. And introducing a myriad of Symbiotes didn’t elevate the story; it felt like a desperate attempt to dazzle with CGI rather than build a compelling narrative.

Overall, there’s nothing rewarding, nothing for the audience to sink their teeth into—pun intended. Sony, please, it’s time to stop producing these Marvel knockoffs; they’re a waste of everyone’s time!
